This was my first build of 2026. I received this LEGO Creator Race Plane set as a gift from my daughter. My hope was that we would build this together, which we did for a tiny bit. I started this build on Jan 1st and finished on the 2nd. Being a 3-in-1 set, I went with the actual Race Plane as it reminds me of an R/C build, specifically my 4 Star 60. You can see the three options, fighter jet, helicopter and race plane that you can build from this 178 piece set in the featured image above.
With the race plane you build out the body and wing structure first. After you build out the engine followed by the tail structure. Once that is all assembled you build out the rest of the tail and cockpit components. Lastly you attach the propeller completing the aircraft and have it on the display stand, which you also build as part of the set.
You can see what the plane looks like sitting on my table from the top and side. I like the look and it was a relaxing build, made all that much more special by being a gift from my daughter.
