Entering the World of Adult Lego

I stumbled into a new hobby, as I watched Steph, my wife, complete adult LEGO sets from the botanical collection, some of which I purchased for her for various occasions.  This became a relaxing and enjoyable hobby for her and over the past year my daughter, who just turned 4, has also discovered LEGO.  It was through building LEGO sets with my daughter that I rediscovered my passion for LEGOs, especially this past April when we were visiting my parents for Easter and brought out LEGOs from when I was a kid!  It was at this point I decided to ask for my own LEGO set for Father’s Day.

I didn’t have much of a clue what I would like to build and if I needed to start with something basic or could delve into one of the more challenging adult sets.  Steph figured I’d have no problems so, as I tend to do, delved into research on what I might like online and when we were near one in a LEGO store.  I eventually found a few that I liked; which was a bit of a challenge as I’m not a Star Wars fan and the video game sets (i.e. Super Mario) don’t appeal to me, even though they would be nostalgic.

That said, since I typically spend my winters building model R/C Airplanes and haven’t really been able to this past winter I went with the LEGO Icons Concorde 10318 set and am currently on bag 10 and have been using my building table for my LEGO set.

I haven’t had a chance to blog about anything, I thought to myself I’ve been blogging about R/C Airplanes which has been my main hobby for years, why not my LEGO builds too!  So this is the entryway into blogging about my thoughts on my LEGO sets, build progress, and whatever else tickles my LEGO fancy.

I look forward to any discussion around anything I post.  All I ask is that you be kind, constructive, and have fun!
