Concorde – Elevons, Tail Fin & Split Rudder (20-21)

On November 23, 2024 I completed the build of my Concorde, which included building the elevons and tail fin with the split rudder as bag 20, pictured below.

Twenty Concordes were built, six developmental and fourteen commercial aircraft.  Most stayed in service for 27 years!  That’s quite impressive.

Concorde featured a split rudder, with only the lower portion being used at high speeds to allow for finer adjustment and reduced torsion on the vertical stabilizer.

This wraps up my build of the Concorde.  I really enjoyed this build and am happy with how everything turned out and look forward to my next build, stay tuned!

At the bottom is a video of how the functional pieces move.
